THE DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM (DPP)
What is the Diabetes Prevention Program?
The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is a 12-month, evidence-based lifestyle change program designed to help you prevent or delay type 2 diabetes.
Developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, this program focuses on making realistic, sustainable changes to your daily habits.
You will learn how to:

Eat healthier without giving up the foods you love

Increase your physical activity
-
Lose a modest amount of weight (5–7%)

Build habits that last a lifetime
Who Should Join?
You may qualify for the program if you:

Are age 18 or older
-
Have been told you have prediabetes
-
Have a high score on a diabetes risk test
-
Are overweight or have a BMI ≥ 25 (≥23 if Asian)
-
Have a history of gestational diabetes

We help you monitor your progress in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.

Your blood sugar (A1c) is checked at key points during the program:

Beginning (Baseline)

This allows you to clearly see how your lifestyle changes are improving your health over time.
